The Wood Effect
This small L-shaped garden needed to be low maintenance but also a space for entertaining. The client expressed a wish for a contemporary space which incorporated timber to complement the converted barn materials. Oak sleepers were laid within the paving and a slatted cedar fence was added on the boundary. Timber sleepers were used for gentle steps down the steep slope to the entertaining area, where raised beds provided a backdrop to built-in seating and a pond with a sandstone water feature.
